U2 Will Cash In On Painting
Thursday, June 12th, 2008A painting by the late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, which is currently owned by U2, will be auctioned off at Sotheby’s of London on July 1st. Back in 1989, bassist Adam Clayton spotted the work of art, estimated to be worth 8 MILLION DOLLARS (GBP 4 Million), in a New York gallery and the band decided to purchase it to decorate their Dublin studio. Now Bono, Adam, the Edge and Larry can laugh their way to the bank (more than they do already) when it goes under the hammer next month.
The rich just keep getting richer, eh? The old saying holds true…”it takes money to make money”!
