Paul McCartney Takes Matters Into His Own Hands

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Yes, that’s right…our hero Sir Paul McCartney has finally taken matters into his own hands.   Security matters, that is.   Tonight, September 25,  Paul is due to perform in Tel Aviv, Israel under very stressful conditions, I might add.  As you probably know by now,  militant suicide bomber type individuals have threatened to cause havoc at the concert and Paul McCartney is taking no chances.

He actually hired a team of 5,000 security people to protect him and his entourage at the event.   Wow!  I feel so much better now, really I do!   Twenty of Israel’s elite Mossad intelligence organization as well as officers from the British tough guys M16 will be present, among many other assorted security professionals.

Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper has been told…

“No one is taking anything for granted. The level of security is unlike anything we’ve seen.  Everything is being done to ensure that this passes peacefully and witout incident.”

I kinda figured Paul would take this route, he’d be crazy not to.  Well, Cheers Paul!  Here’s to a wonderful, peaceful show tonight in Israel.

Sir Paul McCartney Arrives in Israel

Paul McCartney Concert

Paul McCartney has arrived in Israel and is preparing to play his historic gig tomorrow in Tel Aviv. Despite protesters calling for a boycott of the concert for political reasons and terrorist threats, Macca will play in front of 50,000 fans. After landing at Ben Gurion airport, Paul was whisked away to his hotel where he managed to dodge the paparazzi by sending a decoy car to the front entrance of the hotel, while he entered through the rear entrance.

Let’s hope that things go smoothly at this concert, and that everyone concerned is safe and sound.

Paul McCartney Gets By With A Little Help From The Dalai Lama

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Paul McCartney has received a gift from the Dalai Lama, can you believe that?  Uh huh, it’s true!

Anticipating  Paul’s upcoming gig tomorrow in Israel, the Dalai has sent him a book entitled “The Universe In A Single Atom”, with the aim being to help Paul get through his tough time ahead.

To say this event tomorrow is nerve-wracking for everyone involved is putting it mildly.  Suicide bombers have threatened to target the event,  but Paul is trying hard not to let it get the better of him.  In true McCartney fashion, he philosophises…

“I think we’re at a very interesting stage in human development and I just hope for the best and I’m optimistic about it. I’m not so much religious as someone who likes to think I take the best from many religions: the best of what they all have to say. They obviously have a lot of things in common.

He also goes on to say…

“the world is a magnificent place and that we are blessed to be on it.”

My goodness, what a man!  He seems to be very calm and cool under this immense pressure he’s facing by performing for the fans in Israel.  History will be made tomorrow evening, and let’s all hope and pray that Paul and all of his people are safe as the eyes of the world will be on Tel Aviv.

Ted Nugent Offers Bodyguard Service To Paul McCartney

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Rocker Ted Nugent has offered to be Sir Paul McCartney’s personal bodyguard when Macca heads to Tel Aviv for his concert on Thursday Sept. 25.  Nugent, most famous for his hit ‘Cat Scratch Fever’, is urging Sir Paul to seriously consider his offer.  No matter that McCartney is a vegetarian and animal rights activist, and Nugent is a National Rifle Association official and avid hunter, Nugent says:

“Regardless that Paul and I have our obvious social, cultural, and culinary differences outside of music, I will not bend or waiver to voodoo religious whackjobs and neither should Paul.”

He goes on to say,

“It would be my pleasure to keep this legendary musical hero safe from terrorists and mad men, and then buy him a nice dinner of tofu. I’m Dirty Harry with a ponytail, and I’m at Paul’s service.”

Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson And Others Team Up For ‘Heroes’ Album

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Paul McCartney Concert

A new album in the works entitled ‘Heroes’, will be released on November 22nd and it promises to deliver something totally different.   The charity War Child will benefit from the musical contributions of great names like Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, and The Clash.

All of these artists, and then some, have chosen songs from their back catalalogues to be covered by young and hip present day artists like The Kooks, Rufus Wainwright and Duffy, who has been chosen by Paul McCartney to cover his huge hit ‘Live and Let Die’.  Bob Dylan even asked Beck to cover his song’Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat’.

Paul McCartney had this to say about the new project…

“I have been supporting War Child since 1995. Their work with children in war zones saves lives and their work with those who take decisions that help them to do something about it saves even more lives.

“I think Duffy’s version of ‘Live And Let Die’ is great - I was really impressed. The breadth of talent on this project is amazing; it’s great that so many people gave their time, energy and support to this initiative. I urge everyone to support War Child.”

Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?  You’ll have to wait until November 22nd to have a listen though.  Hey, might even make a good Christmas present for that hard- to- buy -for music lover on your list!

Paul McCartney’s Tel Aviv Concert Ad

Friday, September 19th, 2008

In 6 days Paul McCartney will perform in Israel. This will be the first time ever that Paul McCartney performs in Israel and the biggest show ever to be in Israel.

I’ll be leaving to Tel Aviv in 5 days! Stay tuned for a full report!

Hand Wringing In The Paul McCartney Household

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

There’s a bit of uneasiness in the world of Paul McCartney’s family these days.  It’s all due to the impending trip to Israel that Paul is about to undertake.  As written before here on BlogMeanies, Paul is scheduled to play in Tel Aviv on September 25.  There have been threats to Paul’s life from militant Muslim extremists and that in turn, has caused the McCartney clan to express their fears for dear old dad.   Can you blame them?   I’m worried sick about him going there too!   A source tells the British newspaper Daily Express that Stella McCartney, Mary McCartney, James McCartney and Heather McCartney are…

“racked with worry. Paul’s family knows that he’s not the type to back down but that doesn’t stop them being extremely worried about him.”

“It’s his kids who would prefer him not to do they show but they also accept that their dad will do what he believes to be right and won’t be scared off.”

I love Paul for not backing down.   It shows he has character and strength and he is never one to look adversity in the face and run the other way.  The man has been through so much in his life and I suppose he’s looking at this development as another chapter in his interesting life.

Paul McCartney Will Be Guarded By Israeli Secret Service

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Sir Paul McCartney will reportedly be protected by Israeli secret service agents at his concert in Tel Aviv on Sept. 25.  This news follows alleged threats by Muslim extremists, who have called the Beatles icon “an enemy of Muslims”.

An Israeli official said,

“Anyone who tries anything will be meeting Allah sooner than they thought.”

Despite being urged to cancel the concert, Macca said,

“I refused. I do what I think, and I have many friends who support Israel.”

I personally will feel better when this concert is over. I’m sure it will all be fine, but I’m a little worried.

Paul McCartney Says No To Tommy Bahama

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Paul McCartney Concert

Want another reason to despise Heather Mills?  Not that you need anymore, but here goes….

It has recently come to light, courtesy of Mills ex-publicist Michele Elyzabeth,  that back in 2005 Ms. Mills, when she was still married to Paul McCartney, was set to have her own perfume line in a deal cooked up between Elyzabeth and Tommy Bahama.

The fragrance, which would’ve been called Voice (isn’t that an awful name for a fragrance?) was scrapped, thanks in part to Paul McCartney hitting the roof when he found out about it.  This is what Michele Elyzabeth had to say about the whole, awful deal…

“The company suggested using a photo of them both, Heather reckoned that would work and emailed them one of her wedding pictures. But when the ad came back (for approval) I got this phone call from Heather saying the project had to be scrapped immediately.

“Heather told me that when she showed Paul the adverts he hit the roof. She told me he shouted at her, ‘Are you f**king mad?’

OMG, can you just see that ugly scenario unfolding?  I don’t blame Paul one bit.  That deal would’ve made him look like a fool.  Needless to say, the whole idea went to pot when Paul put the skids on it.  Tommy Bahama just wasn’t interested in Ms. Mills persona alone.  They felt she wasn’t a big enough “star”.

Right On, Tommy Bahama!
