Paul McCartney Lets Heather Mills Have It In A New Song

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Well, I wonder what took him so long?  Paul Mccartney  has finally cut loose on Heather Mills, his ex-wife that raked him over the coals in a recent divorce settlement.  Seems he’s written a new song, a little ditty entitled “Nothing Too Much, Just Out of Sight”.

The track will be featured on his latest album coming out in November,  ‘Electric Arguments’ a dance album penned with his side gig The Fireman.  A line from the track, which I personally love and I think it’ll really hit home with Ms. Mills, goes something like this…

“And you have money/ And no manners.”

Isn’t that just so beautiful?  Poetic, even.

The Fireman’s new CD, along with producer The Youth, will be the first album of theirs to feature vocals.

I am so looking forward to it!

George Harrison Beatlefest to Be Held This Weekend

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

The town of Benton, Illinois will be buzzing with activity this weekend, as the George Harrison Beatlefest will be taking place there. The fest, which has been held annually since 2001 (after George’s death) is held in honor of the Beatle whose sister, Louise, once resided in the town. Several bands will be performing at the event, including headliners The Pete Best Band. Publicist of the event, Jeremy Sukalec said:

“The event has taken place since Harrison’s passing in 2001 and is our way of honoring his legacy.”

Apparently, George did more in that area of the country (southern Illinois) than just visit with his sister. According to Jim Kirkpatrick, author of “Before he Was Fab” :

“Harrison did not just visit his sister in Benton, but traveled throughout southern Illinois. He visited Garden of the Gods, bought a Rickenbacker guitar in Mt. Vernon and even visited his first drive-in movie theatre in Marion.”

The festival has grown every year it’s been held. Said Sukalec:

“Harrison has had a lasting impact on the town, but the town also had an impact on him. In his solo career he covered ‘Got my mind set on you,’ a song he first heard while visiting Benton.”

What a great idea to honor such a wonderful man. George is still in our hearts, and to have a festival such as this celebrating him goes to show how much people everywhere loved him and miss him.

Paul McCartney Is a Happy Man

Paul McCartney Concert

Seems that Sir Paul McCartney has found love and happiness with his girlfriend, Nancy Shevell. Macca took Nancy to fashion designer daughter Stella McCartney’s show at Paris Fashion Week in France, and was obviously quite happy, by the looks of things.

At one point, Paul was asked if he’s been having any luck finding happiness, to which he replied:

“I’m in a good place, I think.”

Good for Paul! I hope that this romance turns out to be what he’s been looking for, and if that’s the case, good luck and best wishes to him and Nancy. I think they make a great couple.

Heather Mills Is Not Moving to the Caribbean

Heather Mills Crazy

Heather Mills has denied reports that she will be moving to an island in the Caribbean that is owned by Sir Richard Branson. Last month she was rumored to be getting ready to flee Britain to make her home on the exclusive Neckler Island in order to get away from the press and other nasties who were hounding her. Mills claims however that this story, among others, is just not true and says:

“Wouldn’t that (moving to Necker Island) have been lovely? Where was my daughter supposed to have gone to school? That’s totally made up.
“They also made up that I was going to write a novel about a rock star and a model, and that I was selling my (East Sussex, England) house. I’ve just spent a year having it renovated and so it is not on the market.”

Can we believe anything she says? I don’t think so. This is probably just another load of crap that she put out there to get her name in the papers….again. I wish she would just go away and stay wherever it is she goes away to.

So You Wanna Be A Rock ‘n’ Roll Star?

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

The 2008 London edition of Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp has updated its list of celebrity musicians. Pete Best is the latest celebrity participant to be confirmed, joining former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman, Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason, songwriter/producer Mark Hudson, and a host of other big names in music.

FYI, the Camp will take place November 4-9 at Abbey Road Studios and The Cavern Club in Liverpool.  The mission of Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp is “to bring people’s musical fantasies to life!” No musical experience is required. Campers will participate in small group instruction from rock star counselors, master class sessions in drums, bass, songwriting, etc., record a song with bandmates and celebrity musicians at Abbey Road Studios, and perform live on stage at The Cavern Club!  Campers will live the rock star lifestyle, all for $12,999 plus hotel and airfare.  If you’ve always wanted to say, “I’m with the band”, this is your chance to make that dream a reality!

Sounds like a blast!

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney, in collaboration with producer/Killing Joke bassist Youth, is set to release a new album under the guise of his electronic identity, The Fireman. The album, entitled “Electronic Arguments”, will be on the shelves on November 13th, and is the first album for the duo since “Rushes” was released in 1998.

The album contains thirteen songs which were recorded in as many days. Amazingly, each song was written and recorded in one day. The debut of the album’s opening song, “Nothing Too Much Out of Sight” is scheduled for tonight on BBC Radio.

Paul sure is one busy guy, isn’t he?

Paul McCartney Is Helpful Contact

Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney would certainly be someone you’d like to know if you were a singer trying to break into the music biz.  It just so happens that Macca’s former personal assistant is trying to do just that.  Holly Dearden has just signed on for her firt album and has a gig lined up at a London club.

When Sir Paul found out that Holly was a singer, he committed to helping her get her career off the ground.  Holly said,

“He didn’t know I was a singer for a long time, I told him right near the end and he was very supportive. I didn’t tell him earlier because I wanted to do it myself. I’ve hooked up with some good people via him.”

She went on to say,

“Paul gave me his blessing to use everyone around him to help me out. It’s nice having him to back me up.I have invited him to come and watch me at Ronnie Scott’s. I’m not sure if he is going to make it yet, but I hope he does.”

Autograph Book Signed by The Beatles Goes For Big Money

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

A chef who served snacks to The Beatles at his hotel, after a photo shoot back in 1963, has sold his autograph book, which was signed by the boys, for $6750. The book was sold at an auction in Dorset, England.

One of the photos taken at that particular shoot went on to become the cover photo for the album With The Beatles, and one of the most famous and recognizable photos in the world.

Paul McCartney Visits the Birthplace of Jesus

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney paid a visit on Wednesday to the reported birthplace of Jesus Christ while on a tour of Bethlehem. Paul requested a visit to the Church of the Nativity, took photos, and lit two candles “for peace”. The church was built in the fourth century over the traditional birthplace of Christ. Paul also stated that he hoped that his visit to the West Bank would satisfy those non-Jewish critics who have opposed the idea of him performing in Tel Aviv. Paul said:

“I’m here to highlight the situation and to say that what we need is peace in this region, a two-state solution.
“I get criticised everywhere I go, but I don’t listen to them (critics). I’m bringing a message of peace, and I think that’s what the region needs.”

Bravo, Paul!!
