Yoko Ono Wants To Keep Mark David Chapman Locked Up

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Later this week, that creep of all creeps, Mark David Chapman’s (you all know who he is and what he did, I cannot bring myself to type it) case will be brought up with parole officers at Attica State Prison.  This is the fifth time he’s requesting parole, can you believe him?? Yoko Ono is asking officials there not to release Chapman, telling the New York Daily News…

“It’s dangerous for him to come out. Not only for us, but for himself. There are so many people out there who dislike him. It’s safer for him to stay in jail.”

She is absolutely right on with this one.  If he were released,  I believe somebody would try to take him out on his first day of freedom.

UPDATE: it was just reported that his parole was denied. Yay!

Yoko Ono Hits Top Of Billboard Dance Chart

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono has shot to the top of Billboard’s Dance Chart this week, beating out Madonna.  Wow, that’s is quite a dubious distinction if I do say so myself!  Yoko’s version of Give Peace A Chance, from her new CD ONO Give Peace A Chance, edged out Madonna’s Give It 2 Me from her new CD Hard Candy.

I wonder what John Lennon would’ve thought about this re-mix of his infamous anthem?  I’m not too sure I dig it.  In fact, I like Madonna’s dance tune a lot better.

Yoko Ono made an emotional visit to an art exhibit of her late husband, John Lennon, in the city of Liverpool. She was visibly choked upon seeing a large picture of John. The exhibit, The Art of John Lennon, is being held at The Daily Post and Echo Building. Yoko said that she was pleased that the exhibit was being held in Liverpool, as it was a great city that John had a deep love for. She also said that she’d be sticking around for Paul McCartney’s concert on Sunday at Anfield.

Yoko Ono In Court To Block Distribution Of Lennon Videos

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono was in U.S. District Court last week in an attempt to keep several hours of videos of her late husband John Lennon private.

World Wide Video LLC, a Lawrence, Mass.-based company, claims it owns the 10 hours of raw footage, shot in 1970 by Tony Cox, Yoko’s husband before she married John, but Yoko claims she is the rightful owner. World Wide Video has filed a federal lawsuit against Ono, claiming Ono’s attempts to stop the company from publicly showing the footage is a copyright infringement. Further arguments in the case are scheduled for May 21.

Yoko Ono along with John Lennon’s sons Julian and Sean, are reportedly suing the filmmakers of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed for using the song “Imagine” in the documentary without permission.

Ono and Lennon’s sons, along with privately held publisher EMI Blackwood Music Inc filed suit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan seeking to bar the filmmakers and their distributors from continuing to use “Imagine” in the movie. They are also seeking unspecified damages.

The producers cited the fair use doctrine, which allows the use of copyrighted materials for the purposes of commentary and criticism.

The producers said in a statement:

“We are disappointed therefore that Yoko Ono and others have decided to challenge our free speech right to comment on the song ‘Imagine’ in our documentary film.”

Paul McCartney And Ringo Starr Didn’t Attend Neil Aspinall’s Funeral

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Today was the funeral of fifth Beatle Neil Aspinall who died 2 weeks ago.

Yoko Ono, Barbara Bach, Stella McCartney, George and Giles Martin, Pete Townshend and Beatles first drummer Pete Best attended the funeral.

Pete Best’s brother, Roag Best, is the son of Neil Aspinall. Since Pete Best was fired from The Beatles, over 40 years ago, he was not in the same room with the fab four. My guess is that the two remaining Beatles, Paul and Ringo, knew that Pete will be there in support of his brother and therefore they did not attend.

Paul did visit Neil, in New York City, few days before he died.

R.I.P Neil Aspinall!

Yoko Ono Offers Advice for Mills and McCartney

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Yoko Ono has some offered some kind words to the greedy bitch, Heather Mills. Yoko told Britain’s Sky News:

“All I can say is, it’s not very easy for a woman to be associated with The Beatles. I think all the wives did suffer, and I think quietly suffer. Suffer but endured, I would actually say.”

Yoko advises Sir Paul McCartney’s ex to to “do her very best and try to survive”.

Yoko made the comments while visiting Liverpool:

“I’d not just say to her but to Paul too, it’s a very difficult situation for any couple to go through, especially for people who are really out in the world and their every movement is being observed.”

She also expressed sympathy for Paul.

“I’m very sorry for him to have had to go through all that. I haven’t spoken to him about that, but it’s a subject which he probably doesn’t want to discuss with other people.”

I’m not sure why interviewers had to ask for Yoko’s opinion on the situation. It’s not like she’s good friends with either of them and of course she wouldn’t want to say anything bad in public about either of them.
