Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones To Be Featured in ‘Forever 27′ Exhibit

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Jimi Hendrix

A brand new exhibition, due to open in London in September, will feature musicians who all passed away at the age of 27.  Among those remembered will be Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison.

Rare photos of the musicians, as well as the first photoshoot of Brian Jones and the rest of The Rolling Stones, will also be on display.

When you see these names one after another, it is absolutely mind boggling how many of the great ones left us at such a young age.  It makes you wonder what other kinds of music they would’ve created had they not so tragically passed on.

Heather Mills Dropped By Her Publicist

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Heather Mills

Heather Mills has found herself minus a publicist. Michele Elyzabeth, the publicist in question, has dumped Mills because she “couldn’t take anymore” of her “outbursts”. The public relations manager has slammed her former client, saying that she was mistreated by the gold-digger, and was impossible to deal with. She released a statement to the media:

“After working for Heather Mills for the past four years, I have decided to cease representing her. Since her divorce has become final, in my opinion, Heather has become an impossible person.
“I have been very patient in my dealings with Heather, however, I cannot take any more. I have given her substantial unpaid time and attention. I am owed money. I refuse to be subjected to her outbursts. On reflection and given the way I have been treated, I now have sympathy with much of what the British Press has reported about her.”

What Paul McCartney ever saw in that bitch, other than her physical “assets” remains a mystery. If it weren’t for him she would still be an “unknown”. Now she thinks she is above everyone else. She needs to be knocked off that high horse of hers. Every time we hear about her, it just reinforces what a witch she really is.

Former Promoter for The Beatles is Mad as Hell!

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Sid Bernstein, former promoter for The Beatles and other British Invasion acts, is pissed that he didn’t get invited to Billy Joel’s final concerts last week at Shea Stadium before it is to be demolished. Bernstein is the one who organized The Beatles famous concert at Shea in 1965, which was also the first held at the stadium. Now he wants to squeeze in one more concert, featuring a Beatles tribute act, Rain. Bernstein, 90, told the New York Daily News:

“Can I tell you how upset I am that I wasn’t invited?”

Bernstein said that he is in talks with the people who brought the Pope to Yankee Stadium, and “maybe” they’ll have the tribute band show at Shea. Ouch.

Paul McCartney And Other Veteran Rockers Campaign To Extend Copyright Laws

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney, Roger Daltry and other veterans rockers are heading for victory in their campaign to extend the copyright on old recordings.  Up until now,  musicians, engineers and session players lose the rights to their recordings after 50 years.  After that time, producers, performers and record labels are no longer compensated for sales or airplay.  Today, the European Union (EU) devised a plan which will allow the artists to keep receiving royalties for 95 years.   Wow, that seems like a long time, doesn’t it?  It certainly will allow the artists’ families to reep the benefits of their fame, long after they’re gone.

Pete Best To Release Album of Original Material

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Pete Best

On Sept. 16, Pete Best will release his first album, after forty years, of original material. The album, entitled Haymans Green, is a musical documentary encapsulating Pete’s time with the greatest Rock n’ Roll band in the world, The Beatles. The eleven tracks written and recorded by The Pete Best Band for the ‘Haymans Green’ Album/CD are biographical, taking in different aspects of Pete Best’s life. They have been written with Pete in a fashion that not only depicts his life, but the trials and tribulations of life in general. The songs cover subjects such as the Casbah, the club opened by Best’s mom, Mona Best, the time spent by the band in Hamburg, Matthew Street, and Haymans Green, the family home upstairs from the Casbah Coffee Club. All songs written by Pete Best, Roag Best, Phil Meli, and Paul Parry.

I can’t wait to hear this album. Sounds like it will be full of Beatles memories. Hope the music is good. Haven’t heard Pete Best’s band yet.

Ringo Starr Visits Chelsea Floral Tribute

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

The VIP preview of the Chelsea Flower Show this week hosted a very special guest as former Beatle Ringo Starr turned out to admire a garden designed in memory of his late band mate George Harrison.

The floral tribute was designed by George’s widow Olivia and tells the story of his life - from his beginnings in Liverpool in 1943 to his post-Beatle years.

“He never felt more at peace (than in the garden),”

says 59-year-old Olivia, who was also joined by former Beatles manager Sir George Martin. The music mogul was impressed by what he saw, saying,

“I think it’s fantastic. It’s completely George - it’s wonderful!”
