On Saturday, May 3, Eric Clapton began the U.S./ Canada leg of his tour. The show was at the Ford Amphitheater in Tampa Bay, Florida. Eric and his band’s next concert date is Monday, May 5, at the Seminole Hardrock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The tour resumes on Thursday, May 22 with a concert at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. An appearance in Toronto, Ontario is set for Tuesday, May 27 at the Molson Amphitheatre. All dates are in the eastern regions of the U.S. and Canada. Opening for Eric is Robert Randolph & The Family Band, who also opened for the 2004 World Tour.

Eric Clapton has been invited to play a concert in the North Korean capital Pyongyang, an official at the country’s UK embassy has confirmed, according to the BBC News.

If Clapton does the gig, he’ll become the first Western rock star to perform in the Communist country.
