Ice cream kings Ben and Jerry are paying tribute to Sir Elton John in their own sweet, tasty way. They have come up with a new flavour of ice cream dedicated to Elton called “Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road”. All proceeds from the sale of the concoction will go to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The ice cream is described as “an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks”. OMG! That sounds yummy!!!!

The limited edition flavour will only be available at Ben & Jerry’s Vermont Scoop Shops from July 18-25. This ice cream flavour is also being used to celebrate the first time that Elton has ever played the state of Vermont, home of Ben & Jerry. Very cute!

The British press are at it again, poking fun at poor Sir Elton John. On this go round, they’re making fun of his annual White Tie and Tiara Ball. The singer was upset at a spoof article which appeared in The Guardian implying that the overheads from the event were “excessive”.

This isn’t the first time Elton has pursued legal action against the British press. In 2006, he successfully sued The Daily Mail for claiming that he ordered guests at his charity soiree in 2005 not to approach him.

One would think that the press in the UK would have better things to do than make fun of Elton’s fund- raising efforts. Apparently, he’s very sensitive to those kind of things, and they have been sued before, so they should just lay off. BTW, this year’s ball raised a record $20 million for the Elton John Aids Foundation.

Way to go, Sir Elton.

Sir Elton John has raised around $10 million at a charity dinner at his Berkshire house over the weekend. It was his tenth annual White Tie and Tiara Ball. Guests, who paid $6000 a head to attend the fund raiser included former President Bill Clinton, Michael Caine, Rod Stewart and family, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Kelly Osborne, Denzel Washington, and Elle MacPherson. Brian Wilson entertained diners at the beach-party-themed bash. Money raised went to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Elton John still is sorry for the heartache he caused his ex-wife Renate Blauel when they split - because the couple would still be married if he wasn’t gay.

The rocker admits he loved the German he wed in Australia in 1984 ‘in a certain way,’ and reveals she was ‘fantastic’ in bed, but it was not enough to turn him straight.

Elton and Blauel divorced in 1988, but the Rocket Man still insists his ex-wife is ‘the classiest woman’ he has ever met.

He adds,

“I do love her desperately but it wasn’t to be, I was living a lie. She would be very happy to be still married to me because she loved me so much… but it wasn’t the right decision to make.”

How very sad for a woman to fall in love with a gay man, especially not knowing he was gay. Maybe she did know and thought he would become straight….who really knows?
