Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are the official winners of the “Who Made the Most Money on Tour in the Summer of 2008″ sweepstakes. The band earned a whopping $32 million plus. They were the only supergroup touring this summer who made it past the $30 million mark, according to tour tracking estimates given by Pollstar. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers , dare I say it, put on an amazing show that is not to be missed. It’s not surprising that they were the top earners on the summer tour circuit this year.
