The Rolling Stones have been named the highest paid private performers. Author Imogen Edward-Jones made the discovery while doing research for her book “Pop Babylon“. It seems that the earnings of the band dwarf other performers’ pay, in comparison. Should we be surprised? I think not, as The Rolling Stones ARE the greatest rock and roll band in the world, bar none. Now as for their earnings…they command a whopping 3.5 million British pounds per performance. That’s 7 million US dollars. Let’s try to imagine what the gross receipts are when the band does a full-scale world tour. Ouch!!!!!!

I’m hoping that The Stones tour again in the near future. For all of us fans, let’s just say that we had better start saving our pennies now, because the ticket prices will probably be even more outrageous than the last time they toured.
