Paul McCartney Concert

Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed he will be singing on the Plains of Abraham on July 20 to help celebrate Quebec City’s 400th birthday. In a videotaped message from London on Monday, Paul announced:

“I am doing a gig, a big gig, in Quebec City on July 20 to help Quebec celebrate their 400th anniversary. That (400 years) is a long time. We’re coming to Quebec for the first time. We’re going to have a great time and I would love to see you there.”

Tickets will be free. YAY!

I’ve never been there, but I’ve always wanted to go and now I’m more motivated than ever. Quebec City, here I come! Well, at least, I hope to go.

Macca recently played in Kyiv, Ukraine but has never appeared in Quebec City.

So were you able to go finally? I hope for you, because it was AWESOME! :)

If you went, hope you came back home without bruises and being traumatized by the hysterical crowd who trampled and agressed the people who tried to have a good time but where injustly crushed, hit and abused verbally by the savages that were present and who made our experience traumatising. We loved the show and Paul but hundreds of people around us swear they will NEVER go back to a show like this.
The saddest thing I saw that night was an elderly and and his wife, he was in an electric chair and almost toppled sideways cause it was dark, the terrain was very bad and no one tried to help them except us.
The wife was crying, thinking they would never make it out of the maze…KARMA people…what goes around comes around!
Where was the security that night? Worst security I have ever seen..I know I work for the Sureté du Quebec as inverstigator in security logistics.
All we are saying, is give Peace a chance!

    Hi Geneviève and Nancy,

Yes, I was able to go and the show was beyond my expectations….I was over the moon. Please check back for a review of the show soon by Pink Meanie.

I do have to say that the organization for crowd control was the worst I’ve ever seen in my life!!! I was worried someone was going to get killed. I checked the papers yesterday and I was so grateful to read that there were no reported injuries. It’s shocking - given the craziness from lineup and when they finally allowed us in, but nevertheless, I am so happy there wasn’t anything in the news about people being hospitalized.

There weren’t enough bathrooms for the lineup and many people were falling down as they ran and tried to climb over the garbage that people left behind. Some people are such pigs to leave all of their garbage, even coolers where people would easily fall over when they could have easily tossed it in the garbage.

I met some really wonderful folks from Moncton, NB and Smithville, ON before and during the show which was one of the nice parts. It was my first time in Quebec and the service was wonderful, however, the event organizers should be ashamed for their incompetence.

Paul was truly incredible though and I felt so lucky to see him!
