Paul McCartney Talks About Return to Shea Stadium

Paul McCartney Concert

Paul McCartney has spoken about returning to Shea Stadium to play a final gig before it is demolished. Seeing as The Beatles played the first concert at the stadium back in 1965, it was fitting to invite Sir Paul to play at the last gig, along with Billy Joel and a few other well-known musicians. Paul thoroughly enjoyed himself. He said:

” Shea was a blast! I can’t tell you what it felt like to be back there onstage after all these years - and to think I nearly didn’t make it.”

Paul had to rush from his own gig in Quebec, Canada, to make the show, and after overcoming a few hurdles, he made it there on time to wow the surprised crowd and do a few Beatles numbers.

Macca reminisced about the concert in ‘65, saying:

“Standing out there on stage and hearing the crowd, all the memories came flooding back of being there all that time ago with the band when we first toured the US.”

What a guy! I just love Paul. It’s very cool to see how much he really cares about the fans and how much he still loves performing and making people happy.
