Paul McCartney Campaigns for Paralympics

July 3rd, 2008

Sir Paul McCartney is going to appear in a British TV campaign hoping to raise money for Paralympic athletes.

Macca will urge the public to donate funds to help send disabled athletes to the Paralympic Games in Beijing this year.

Their goal is to raise $4 million for the charity. The former Beatle explained:

“I met Paralympic dressage rider Sophie Christiansen and was blown away by her skill, dedication and the fact she had won a gold medal for Britain, so I felt I had to do something. My suggestion was simple. Why not create an ad to highlight the work of ParalympicsGB and ask the public to give much-needed money.”

The ad is set to appear next week on July 7, 2008 which is happens to be Ringo Starr’s 68th birthday.

I hope they raise the money needed. If possible, the ad will be posted here too so check back.
