Paul McCartney Talks About Return to Shea Stadium

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Paul McCartney Concert

Paul McCartney has spoken about returning to Shea Stadium to play a final gig before it is demolished. Seeing as The Beatles played the first concert at the stadium back in 1965, it was fitting to invite Sir Paul to play at the last gig, along with Billy Joel and a few other well-known musicians. Paul thoroughly enjoyed himself. He said:

” Shea was a blast! I can’t tell you what it felt like to be back there onstage after all these years - and to think I nearly didn’t make it.”

Paul had to rush from his own gig in Quebec, Canada, to make the show, and after overcoming a few hurdles, he made it there on time to wow the surprised crowd and do a few Beatles numbers.

Macca reminisced about the concert in ‘65, saying:

“Standing out there on stage and hearing the crowd, all the memories came flooding back of being there all that time ago with the band when we first toured the US.”

What a guy! I just love Paul. It’s very cool to see how much he really cares about the fans and how much he still loves performing and making people happy.

Ronnie Wood’s Ex-Aide in $1 Million Payout

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Ronnie Wood

Ronnie Wood is in the news again, and the news isn’t good. A former aide of his has been awarded $1 million in damages after accusing him of sexual harassment. Hilary Olson, 30 - who was the band’s wardrobe assistant - filed a complaint against Wood in 2005, just before the band’s A Bigger Bang world tour. Wood, 61, was never charged with any offense nor proved guilty of any wrongdoing. Olsen is banned from discussing the case after signing a confidentiality agreement. Olsen’s mother says:

“It wasn’t just a falling-out. It was a significant incident. I have to be really careful when it comes to my daughter and the Rolling Stones. She goes into panic attacks when this is being talked about. She did costume design and stylist’s work (for the Stones) and that’s why it was a pinnacle, a great job for her.
“She’s only 30 and it (the alleged incident) devastated her for while.”

Ouch!!! The details of this will probably come out in time, one way or another, as they always do.

Mick Jagger Turns 65!

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Mick Jagger

The BlogMeanies would like to wish Mick Jagger a very Happy Birthday. The Rolling Stones frontman turns 65 today…can you believe it?. At an age where many think of retirement, Mick has no such plans, thank goodness. It appears that The Stones will keep on rolling as long as Mick and Keith (who hits the 65 year milestone in a few months) are physically able.

In an interview last year, Mick stated that he was looking forward to doing more work with The Stones. He said:

“We’re not stopping anytime that I know about.”

Ronnie Wood’s Tawdry Girlfriend Insists She’s No Golddigger

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Ronnie Wood

This is enough to make you sick….I hope you’ve already had your breakfast and are fully digested.  By now I’m sure you all know about Ronnie Wood, aka our favorite woodpecker musician, and his dumbass affair with that young Russian waitress.  Well dig this - now she’s going around telling people…

“We’re in love, we’re completely in love.”

Gag me.  Anyway there’s more.  She also sez…

“They’re calling me a Russian slut but if that’s the case I’d be with a rich businessman, not Ronnie.
“I’m not a prostitute and I’ve never worked in an escort bar.

Hello!!!!!!  Little girl,  are you completely mad or what???  OK, let me get this straight…Russian sluts only tend to the needs of rich businessmen, but not rich musicians, is that correct?  Geeeesssshhhh!!!!!  Does she realize how assinine her “statement” is??

Good goin’ with this one Ronnie.  You’ve hit the jackpot I say!

Paul, who remains the lead patron of LIPA, gave a speech to the graduates who attended LIPA in hopes of entering the field of dance, music or theatre. Congrats to all the grads and Cheers to Paul for remaining such a strong force in the school that he helped get off the ground. Rolling Stones Quit EMI, Sign With Universal

Friday, July 25th, 2008

The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones have called it quits with their current record label, EMI and have instead signed an “exclusive” deal with Universal.  This gives Universal control over the Stones future albums as well as their back cataloges.   It seems that things at EMI are on shaky ground these days, what with Paul McCartney pulling the plug on them last year, as well as Radiohead.  This past January, 2000 employess of EMI were given their walking papers.  If it weren’t for Coldplay’s recent album “Viva La Vida” doing so well, I’d say EMI had alot to worry about.  It seems that Mick and the boys made a wise decision getting out while the getting was good.  I just hope they have a happy partnership with the folks at Universal.

Heather Mills Dropped By Her Publicist

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Heather Mills

Heather Mills has found herself minus a publicist. Michele Elyzabeth, the publicist in question, has dumped Mills because she “couldn’t take anymore” of her “outbursts”. The public relations manager has slammed her former client, saying that she was mistreated by the gold-digger, and was impossible to deal with. She released a statement to the media:

“After working for Heather Mills for the past four years, I have decided to cease representing her. Since her divorce has become final, in my opinion, Heather has become an impossible person.
“I have been very patient in my dealings with Heather, however, I cannot take any more. I have given her substantial unpaid time and attention. I am owed money. I refuse to be subjected to her outbursts. On reflection and given the way I have been treated, I now have sympathy with much of what the British Press has reported about her.”

What Paul McCartney ever saw in that bitch, other than her physical “assets” remains a mystery. If it weren’t for him she would still be an “unknown”. Now she thinks she is above everyone else. She needs to be knocked off that high horse of hers. Every time we hear about her, it just reinforces what a witch she really is.

Townshend vs. Daltrey is a Joke

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

The Who’s Pete Townshend is making light of reports that he and Roger Daltrey aren’t getting along these days. Rumour has it that Pete and Roger are feuding. Townshend says that the press is making too much out of the fact that he and Daltrey want separate dressing rooms (well, who doesn’t?) when on tour. Now that’s reason enough for a “feud” isn’t it? But of course!

In a post on his blog Townshend says:

“The delicious gossip from (blogger) Perez (Hilton) is that Perce (Daltrey) and I have separate dressing rooms. That may be true but we chat about the show in the steam room and whip each other with birch twigs.”

WTF???????

Ringo’s Granddaughter Forms a Band

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Ringo Starr

The granddaughter of Ringo Starr is following in the musical footsteps of her granddad and dad, Zak Starkey (former drummer for Oasis and current drummer for The Who), and has formed a band of her own. Tatia Starkey however, is not playing drums a la grandpa Ringo and daddy Zak, but instead is playing bass. The group, called Belakis, is based in London and has already played a number of gigs and have a few more booked around town.
