Ever wonder what’s going on these days with Bill Wyman, former bass guitarist and nearly invisible member of the Rolling Stones? Well, Bill has been anything but silent and invisible, as he’s been doing gigs and projects here and there, mainly in smaller venues (which he and his band love doing, by the way), and recently attended the wedding of Ronnie Wood’s daughter. He also gets together with Charlie Watts (the other silent Stone) on a regular basis and sees the other Stones occasionally. He’s even been invited to appear on the popular British TV show “Big Brother”. Bill said:

“I have been invited to do Big Brother about five times, and I have had to turn down three appeals to do that bloody dancing thing.”

So it looks like Mr. Wyman has not faded away, by any means. He was and is a fantastic bass player who, despite the fact that he stayed, for the most part, in the background, and was overshadowed by the other Stones, an integral part of that band and all that it accomplished. At 70+ years of age (can you believe it?), Bill Wyman is still rolling. I just wish we would hear more from him.
