Heather Mills Bought $5 Million Condo in New York City

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

The greedy gold-digger Heather Mills who was recently dumped by her publicist is reportedly moving to New York after purchasing an apartment in the city. After receiving a $50 divorce settlement from former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, the bitch everyone loves to hate was said to be on the hunt for a home in the USA, either New York City or Los Angeles.

According to reports, Mills signed a contract to purchase the two-bedroom condominium in June which cost just under $5 million. Now Mills will be living on the same street where the girls from Sex and the City lived in the show so perhaps she’ll be on the hunt for her next victim over there.

Doctors Ban Ronnie Wood From Contact With His Wife or Girlfriend

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Ronnie Wood

Here we go with more Ronnie Wood news again.  Sure, you’re sick to death of hearing about his woes by now but I feel as though you may all like to hear what’s new in the continuing saga of Ronnie.  Now it seems as though his doctors that are treating him at the dry out clinic have ordered him to have no contact with his wife Jo nor his 20 year old Russian “girlfriend” (and I use the term loosely) Ekaterina Ivanova.    It seems the added stress of having to juggle the two of them is too much for you-know-who.  Tsk Tsk, poor baby.  The good news is he’s looking much better and feeling more upbeat but he must stay put in the facility for 6 weeks to overcome, once and for all, his addiction to booze, drugs and sex (not necessarily in that order).  I wonder how Jo feels about all this?  She’s probably happy that she doesn’t have to deal with him for the next few weeks!

‘Dark Side of the Moon’ On Billboard Charts Over 31 Years

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ is still a strong seller. It’s now at over 1,615 weeks (31 years) on the charts. The album currently appears on Billboard’s Catalog chart, rather than the Top 200 Albums Chart, which angers Pink Floyd bassist/singer Roger Waters. He says,

“The only reason it’s not on the charts anymore is because they changed the rules. It’s not allowed to be on the charts. Billboard introduced a rule which said no album that’s been out for more than 10 years is allowed to appear in the 200 because the business decided that the chart is a selling tool and they don’t need that tool to sell ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ or ‘Hotel California’ or the other classic albums. So they thought, ‘Well let’s make a separate chart for those and not allow them to have space on the real chart’ because those albums would all still be there.”

Paul and Ringo Stop Release of ‘Let It Be’ DVD

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have stopped the release of the Beatles film ‘Let It Be’.

The 1970 documentary reveals tensions between the Fab Four shortly before their break-up, and insiders at the band’s record company, Apple, claim the two surviving members do not want it re-released.

A source said:

“There has been talk of ‘Let It Be’ finally being released but now there has been a change of heart. The Beatles are still a massive global brand and it’s felt it won’t be helped if the public sees the darker side of the story. Neither Paul nor Ringo would feel comfortable publicizing a film showing The Beatles getting on each other’s nerves.”

The group’s internal relations were at an all-time low during the making of the LP and recording sessions were fraught with internal squabbles.

George Harrison took exception to Paul criticizing his guitar playing, while John Lennon appeared disinterested during the entire process - preferring to spend his time with his wife Yoko Ono.

Although the LP was their final release, the group were so disappointed with ‘Let It Be’ they recorded masterpiece ‘Abbey Road’ afterwards and released it before the much-maligned record.

I don’t blame Ringo or Paul for their feelings on this. I don’t like seeing The Beatles at each other’s throats . I admit that I associate the movie with bad times. It’s not one of my favorites.

Unreleased Beatles Recording Discovered

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

A man cleaning out the loft of his elderly father’s home in Liverpool has discovered a tape of music by The Beatles that has never been released. The reel-to-reel tape, approximately 30 minutes long, contains a number of unreleased versions of “I Feel Fine” and “I’m a Loser”. At one point in the tape, the band can be heard bursting into fits of laughter during an interrupted take of “I’ll Follow the Sun”. Beatles blog Wogew reports that the material was most likely recorded for the BBC TV programme ‘Top Gear’ in 1964. The tape is to be auctioned next month and is expected to go for between $16,000 to $24,000.

Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones To Be Featured in ‘Forever 27′ Exhibit

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Jimi Hendrix

A brand new exhibition, due to open in London in September, will feature musicians who all passed away at the age of 27.  Among those remembered will be Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison.

Rare photos of the musicians, as well as the first photoshoot of Brian Jones and the rest of The Rolling Stones, will also be on display.

When you see these names one after another, it is absolutely mind boggling how many of the great ones left us at such a young age.  It makes you wonder what other kinds of music they would’ve created had they not so tragically passed on.

Bono

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reportedly asked Bono to be godfather to their newborn twins. The movie star couple recently became proud parents to a baby boy and girl and are said to be “inspired” by the U2 frontman. According to reports, he was happy to accept the request. A source said,

“Brad and Angie think the world of Bono. They have been friends for years. Brad is a massive U2 fan and told Bono how much he admired him when they were introduced at a party a few years back. Since then, they’ve become very close, which Brad is thrilled about. Angelina is inspired by Bono’s humanitarian work and has become friends with his wife Ali Hewson.

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Ronnie Wood

Rod Stewart has vowed to help Ronnie Wood fight his alcoholism.

The pair are due to reform their 70s band The Faces for a series of shows later this year and Rod is determined to ensure Ronnie - who is currently in rehab following drinking binge with 20-year-old Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova - is well enough to perform.

A source said:

“Rod says that if Ronnie’s not back to full speed by September, he’s going to step in and get him better. I think he wants to offer him a haven away from his mad world.

I certainly hope someone helps Ronnie- I want a Faces reunion!

Heather Mills Ex-Publicist Speaks Out on Alleged Macca Tapes

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Heather Mills

As was reported previously here at Blog Meanies, Heather Mills has been dumped by her publicist, and now Michele Elyzabeth is going public with some info on those tapes that allegedly show Paul McCartney being not-so-nice to his former missus. According to Elyzabeth, those tapes never even existed. In a taped interview with Access Hollywood, the former rep said:

“I really don’t believe she did (have the video). I was close enough and I heard a couple of conversations. Now that I know what I know, I don’t really think that Paul really went after her for anything.

“She had basically nothing - she had tapes of her being in the studio with him, her being on the road with him, private moments.

“She told me a bunch of stuff… (but) I don’t see him being a violent person.”

Hmmm….very interesting. One just doesn’t know who to believe these days, but knowing what we know about the gold-digger witch, I’d put my money on what the ex-publicist has to say. Actually, anything that comes from that big-mouth of the gold-digger is of questionable validity, to put it mildly.

Rare Postcard Signed By All 4 Beatles Could Auction For $6,000

Monday, July 28th, 2008

This is just incredible news and shows how much the world still adores the Beatles and that people can’t seem to get enough of all things Fab.

A postcard, signed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, will be put up for auction on August 8 in Liverpool. It is expected to fetch upwards of $6,000 or 3,000 GBP. Unbelievable, isn’t it?

The owner of the card, a local woman, attended a Beatles concert in Liverpool way back on May 26, 1963. Gerry and The Pacemakers and Roy Orbison also played on the bill that night. Not a shabby line-up, eh? Anyway, it seems this lucky lady waited with other fans that night and got all 4 Beatles to sign her postcard and that is why this special card is so rare….because all 4 of them signed it together, which was nearly impossible to do as The Beatles gained more and more fame. The only other signatures that are as sought after are Jimi Hendrix and Elvis’. However, there is another postcard signed by the Lads from Liddy and it is on display in Canada, and this BlogMeanie is proud to say she has seen it in person, and has swooned over it too! Cheers to the lucky lady from Liverpool that’s due to cash in big time!
