Stella McCartney’s Special Fashion Presentation of at LIPA
June 5th, 2008As mentioned before, Stella McCartney’s dad Sir Paul McCartney was very busy day on Sunday, June 1, 2008. Stella showed everyone she loves Liverpool too by having a fashion show to show off her autumn/winter ‘08 collection at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). The presentation was held between 1-2pm followed by a reception on June 1, 2008 just before her father, Sir Paul McCartney performed at Anfield Stadium. A spokesperson for the designer said:
“It’s the first time Stella’s shown her collection in England and she did it especially for Liverpool. Paul was performing at Anfield so she just thought it would be the perfect opportunity and to also raise funds for a worthy cause.”
Notable attendees were: Yoko Ono, Olivia Harrison, Sir George Martin and his wife Judy, Giles Martin, as well as the members of Paul’s band: Abe Laboriel Jr., Rusty Anderson, Paul “Wix” Wickens. Many Macca family members were present too: Mike McCartney, James McCartney, and Beatrice McCartney.
Little Bea was holding onto balloons while sitting on her daddy’s lap as they watched the show. Too cute!
Palladium, a local band, covered “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana which was requested by Stella McCartney for Dave Grohl, the frontman of the Foo Fighters. Apparently, he was present too!
Stella said:
“It’s great. We just thought it would be really good fun to come and do it and good to work with LIPA. I’m very proud of my family involvement with LIPA.”
The food at the reception was catered, serving none other than Linda McCartney’s famous vegetarian foods. YUM!
It was a wonderful surprise to be able to attend this once in a lifetime event at LIPA with only 299 others.

Heard that Sir Paul was acting just like a normal dad behind the scenes of the fashion show - asking Stella how she was feeling.
