Robert Plant asks “Tennis, Anyone?”

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Robert Plant

Who would ever guess that Lez Zeppelin’s curly topped Robert Plant would enjoy, of all things, tennis? No me, that’s for sure. I don’t know why but I just can’t picture him swinging a racket around and chasing after that little ball. At 59 years old he’s loving his hobby, about which he says…

“It (tennis) gives me a whole different circle of people to hang out with, who are charming.”

Charming, eh? I guess he doesn’t consider his rocker buddies to be “charming”. I’d like to see who he’s playing tennis with!

Beatles Film Premiere to be in Liverpool

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Beatles LOVE
Liverpool will be the scene on Friday, May 30th of the premiere of The Beatles new film (yeah!) “All Together Now” which is a documentary of events and encounters in the life of the Fabs. Actually, it’s a flim about the collaboration between the Canadian company that created the Cirque du Soleil’s Love show in Vegas, and the Beatles. This should be so interesting, I can’t wait to see it!

The night after the movie premiere, Olivia Harrison will host a special screening of The Concert for George as a tribute to her late husband.

Seems like it’s shaping up to be quite a Beatle-y week in Liverpool at the end of May!

Tom Petty Refuses to Pay $480 Vomit Bill

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Tom Petty
Tom Petty recently returned to one of his old haunts, The Troubadour Club in Los Angeles, to perform with his reunited first band Mudcrutch, remembering that he still owes bosses of the club $480. The bill in question stems from a drunken night at the club which saw Petty throwing up from the stage at the beginning of a planned solo. He joked that drinks were flying all over the place and people’s clothes were ruined. He also offered his buddy Bruce Springsteen a bit of advice for when he (Springsteen) was to perform at The Troubadour:

“Don’t throw up on the tables.”

Paul McCartney Pissed About His New Car

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Paul McCartney Concert

Paul McCartney has bought a spanking new hybrid Lexus that produces very low carbon emissions, which is good for our environment, right? Being keen on being green, Paul thought this car would help in his contribution to making the world a better place for all of us. Imagine how he felt when he found out his new baby was being friggin flown to Britain, instead of being shipped, all the way from Japan.

“It defies sense. Paul was offered a Lexus as a gift and ordered the hybrid limo because it helps to reduce emissions.

“But he’ll be horrified after learning it was delivered by plane. Paul has always campaigned for green issues and he can’t understand why anyone would send an enormous car from Japan to Britain on a plane.

“He didn’t have anything to do with the delivery, that was all organised by the company.” The car arrived at Heathrow on 1 May on a Korean Air flight.

OMG, that was equivalent to the car being driven around the world six times!!! Yikes! So much for trying to save the environment, eh? Poor Paulie!

I feel sorry for the chump who gave the delivery orders on the car. Wouldn’t want to be in his shoes!

Heather Mills hits the streets

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Heather Mills

The day after her divorce was finalized from Paul McCartney, that vile person he was married to, the one whose name I have a hard time writing, well she went for a seaside bike ride with her personal trainer. Remember this guy? He’s the fella she was all hot and bothered over while her marriage to Paul was crumbling. Looks like this guy’s gonna stick around for awhile. Why not? His new girlfriend is worth a fortune, thanks to somebody elses’ riches.

Maybe now she will leave Paul alone, once and for all. Goodbye and good riddance.

Olivia Harrison’s Garden Tribute for George Harrison

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

George Harrison

Olivia Harrison has reportedly created a floral tribute for George Harrison. Olivia lovingly designed a garden in the late Beatle’s honor for an English flower show. The garden is called “Life to Life” after a line in the song “It’s All Too Much.”

The design is meant to depict George’s humble beginnings to his life of luxury through the use of plants and flowers.

Harrison’s own Material World Charitable Foundation was the sponsor for the garden which seems fitting as he often visited the Chelsea Flower Show before he passed away in 2001.

Olivia told Radio Times magazine:

“Each year we used to go to Chelsea and George would take copious notes and come home with a list of plants he wanted to buy.My hope is that this project will be a tribute to the horticultural side of his personality that relatively few people knew about.”

It’s not surprising how he would’ve been drawn to gardening. What a beautiful idea for a tribute to him!

Heather Mills is at it again

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Heather Mills McCartney

This should come as a surprise to no one, but Heather Mills’ (oooh, I even hate typing her name) true character has come to light once again. It seems that the witchy woman has reneged on a promise she made back in 2004 to a Russian woman who had lost both of her legs in a train accident. A British couple had originally heard of this woman’s plight and had contacted Mills to try and arrange some sort of financial help for her, knowing that Mills would be sympathetic since she herself had lost her leg. After several emails and phone conversations between the couple and Mills, the offer failed to materialize and Mills’ broken promise has made her look even worse that she looked before. The British couple have used their own money to help this poor woman now that Mills’ backed out.

“Heather rang us and emailed us repeatedly with promises to pay for Maria’s legs. But every single promise she made fell flat. In the end, she never did anything at all. At first we thought she was a really sincere person. But all her big promises came to nothing. It was shocking behaviour.”

Paul McCartney to finally be free

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Paul McCartney

Well, in as little as six weeks, our boy Paul could finally be free and clear from that vile, hateful Heather Mills character that he unfortunately, against his better judgement, hooked up with a few years back. Today, a judge in London granted a preliminary decree of divorce for my favourite Beatle and that witch. Happy days are here again!

Bono celebrates with Brad Pitt

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Bono

Bono celebrated his 48th birthday on May 10th in grand style, with a bash being thrown at a chic cafe in Monaco (of course it must be chic, it’s in Monaco) by his beautiful brunette wife, Ali Hewson. Imagine his surprise when in walks none other than Hollywood Heartthrob himself, Mr. Brad Pitt. Pitt came withtout his better half, the word’s skinniest pregnant woman Angelina. Also at the event was Prince Albert II of Monaco and Bono’s pal The Edge. Now that is one party I would’ve loved to attend. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail. Oh well, there’s always next year.

Happy Belated Birthday to Bono, and many more!
