Led Zeppelin to receive Best Live Act award
May 3rd, 2008
Led Zeppelin is slated to receive the Best Live Act honor at the Mojo Awards in London on June 16. There has been much talk about a possible reunion tour for the band, but so far nothing has materialized. For one thing, Robert Plant is busy these days touring with Allison Krause, so any touring for Led Zeppelin will have to wait until the Plant-Krause gig is completed. Needless to say, if Led Zeppelin were to reunite, it would be a blockbuster happening which would bring in a ton of money for the band, who, it’s safe to say, aren’t exactly wanting for cash.
When John Paul Jones was asked about a possible reunion album, he said
“I’m not too certain about anything at the moment. I’ve got no idea what’s going to happen, but I’d certainly like to play with Jimmy again.”

I was at the famous 4+ hour Boston Tea Party Led Zeppelin concert many moons ago. I’ve since seen virtually all the great bands of rock, and as great as some were, ie The Who in ‘69, Floyd in early ’70s, AC/DC in ‘77 ect. , none could approach what we witnessed that long ago night in Boston. Led Zeppelin in their lean and hungry prime were just unbelievably exciting and powerful. No band before or since could touch Zeppelin in their prime. They were all so gifted that I’m sure any reunion would be spectacular, but without John Henry Bonham, rock’s greatest drummer and the very core and key to the famed Zeppelin power, they could not possibly scale the heights they once did.
